We are recruiting Trade Counter Sales Assistants for an award winning, family run retail company. They have 5 stores in London and Hertfordshire with 200 staff and sell 32,000 different construction products from building materials, timber, plumbing, heating, bathroom and DIY products.

These are very specialised roles and you must have the relevant product knowledge and previous experience. We are looking for a hardware trade counter assistant and a plumbing department assistant.

The positions are is based in a busy store in Willesden in North West London and the

Reporting into the Branch Manager, daily duties include the following:

• Serving customers, dealing with any queries.
• Assisting in stock replenishment on the shop floor.
• Assisting with deliveries in and out of the store.
• Dealing with any telephone queries effectively and communicating with customers and colleagues.
• Other sales related duties.
• Ordering goods.

Candidates are required to provide advice on a wide range of products so you must have a good knowledge of Building and Construction OR Plumbing and Heating Products.

Person specification:

• Experience of working within either a plumbing or construction materials environment
• Excellent understanding of relevant products
• Excellent customer service
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a busy team
• Able to work on own initiative
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good command of the English language (oral & written)
• Excellent telephone manner
• Previous experience in a similar industry/sector is desirable

There are two positions

The hours for the roles are:
7.30am - 5.30pm Mon-Fri and Every other Saturday 7.30am-3.30pm.
